I first used Peekviewer to monitor a public Instagram account. The platform accesses the profile content every 24 hours and updates the dashboard once every 24 hours. It can capture any changes to the account and include the additional content on the dashboard.

Stories View

Peekviewer can see the Instagram profiles of the people who follow the account you’re monitoring. When I used PeekViewer, it showed me all the profiles that follow the target account. It displayed the date when the Instagram profile started following them. However, I could not access these profiles directly from Peekviewer.

Seeing the people the target account follows gave me a glimpse into those who share common interests. If you were monitoring a child’s account, you could tell which people like your kid. Furthermore, you can use their usernames to check them on Instagram and see if they are appropriate for your child.

View Following

Peekviewer showed me the people that the target account follows. Again, it gave me insights into the people who interested the owner of the account I was monitoring. I could tell their likes, interests, and content style.

It’s great when you see the profiles that a child follows to ensure their safety on Instagram. You can see the type of content they are exposed to and monitor potential risks. Not to mention, you can help them know which profiles to unfollow and block if they DM them.

New Posts Viewer

Peekviewer detects when a person uploads new content and shows it on the dashboard. The New Posts feature updates once every 24 hours. I found it a bit inconvenient since someone can delete posts, and you may miss them.

This meant I could not track an Instagram account in real time and had to wait for Peekviewer to find the new posts and show them on the dashboard.

The Content feature displays all the posts that the target account has ever uploaded to Instagram. It lists the posts from the most recent to the oldest.

You can click on a post to see when it was uploaded. The feature also includes a download button to save the content to your device.

Hot Likes

A hot like is when someone likes an old post. Peekviewer allowed me to see who had liked old posts. I could see the date they liked the post and the account that liked that post.

Knowing who likes an old post allowed me to know the people who want to engage with the account. Regarding a child’s Instagram, you can tell the people showing interest in your child even if they don’t contact them directly. It can help you investigate the account to know if it’s a genuine person or a bad actor.

View Likes

Peekviewer lists all the posts with likes, the date of the like, and the account that left the like. I could see which posts had the most likes, although I had to scroll down all the likes to see the next post. Nevertheless, I could tell which posts were popular.

In addition, I could tell which accounts were liking all the posts, which could indicate an existing relationship. It can also help to advise teens about keeping in touch online and the dangers of relying on social media for their social standing.

View Comments

Peekviewer shows the comments left on posts. It displays the post, the content of the comment, the date of the comment, and the account that left the comment.

Can Peekviewer Access Private IG Accounts?

Peekviewer can access private Instagram accounts, too. The service takes at least seven days to allow you to view the target private Instagram account.

During my test, Peekviewer accessed the private IG profile on the 7th day.

Similarly to a public account, Peekviewer shows a dashboard with the stories, followers, posts, comments, likes, following, and tagged photos count.

I could see the person’s posts, including those where they are tagged or left comments. But the service didn’t show me the target’s followers or following.

Peekviewer provides discreet viewing, and the account’s owner did not know that I was seeing their account. How is it possible to see a private IG account like that?

The techniques can be various: anonymity and proxy networks, data collection and analysis, social engineering, and fake accounts. During my test with the private IG account of a friend, someone new requested to follow her, and shortly after that, Peekviewer started to load data to the dashboard. Coincidence? Who knows.

But when my friend removed that person from the Followers group, there was no new data on the Peekviewer dashboard. Thus, if the platform works like this and your target removes the new follower, you won’t be able to continue viewing their private account.

Does Peekviewer Notify Instagram Users You View Them

Peekviewer accesses Instagram accounts anonymously. It does not notify the owner of the account that you’re viewing their content. Moreover, you do not need to have an Instagram account to view the account you want to monitor.
