Private Insta Viewers That Failed During Our Test

We tested over 20 apps that claim to access private profiles on Instagram. However, only a handful worked, and these Instagram viewer apps did not work.

Gwaa

Gwaa is a web-based application that claims it can access photos and videos on a private Instagram account. It also says that it can help the person who has been blocked or whose request is not being accepted to access Instagram content and activities on the profile they cannot see on Instagram’s official app.

When I tried to use Gwaa, I entered the Instagram profile username, and the service opened the Instagram profile as seen on Instagram but with blurred images. I then had to pass human verification by giving my phone number. However, I did not receive an SMS for verification, and I could not access content from the private account I wanted to view.

Instaview

Instaview is another web application that claimed it was a free private Instagram story viewer. The platform promised to show content of a private Instagram account without following them.

I entered the target account in the search bar, but again, I could not get past the human verification step. It seemed to be a service to facilitate surveys, since it had a banner that said, “verification will complete automatically once survey is complete.

IMGLookup

IMGLookup claims it can view private Instagram photos by accessing private profiles. Again, I hit [Start Now] and was led to a page to verify my identity by completing a few actions.

IMGLookup asked me to download an app or provide my phone number for SMS verification.

Conclusion

The best private Instagram viewers allow you to access private profiles anonymously without the owner’s knowledge. Based on our research, Peekviewer and AccountViewer are the best options since they allow users to explore private profiles, although this process requires some time.

However, if you want to read Instagram messages, mSpy is our top recommendation. Still, this app requires installation on the target phone.
